Renovation and Conservation of Bangneaw Community, Phuket
Abstract
The purpose of the project to study the history of establishment of Thai-Chinese community and lifestyle which is original way of life and unique.
In the area has the fishery career of Por-Jan fisher, Por-Tor festival and the traditional of eating vegetarians. It also has the Sino-Portuguese architecture
style. Presently, Phuket province is one of well-known tourist city of Thailand. The government has a plan to develop the transportation for facilitating
the tourism economic. Therefore, it is appropriate to rehabilitation and conservation in Bangneaw.
The study indicated that Bangneaw, Phuket province has a unique style of life, beautiful tradition and uniquely Sino-Portuguese architecture style.
However, rapid development has caused the change of Sino-Portuguese architecture style which is connected to Talang road (Lad Yai) It is the
sightseeing spot of Sino-Portuguese architecture and Sapan Hin park. Sapan Hin park is the mangrove ecological attractions which has the important
river of Phuket called Klong Bang Yai has flew through. This river is sourced of fishery lifestyle. The change of community lifestyle is caused to the
slowly disappearance and this is the reason of this project. The project that we will be doing are the development of land usage plan, traffic
management plan, building more sidewalk and bicycle way. All the plan will be a good approachability to the villagers of Bangneaw. The last plan
is cultural heritage conservation. Determining guidelines for rehabilitation and conservation of architecture style for the tourist attraction spot, to
improve the economic and quality of community lifestyle. Improving the landscape to be beautiful and attract the tourists to visit and get in touch
to the uniquely beautiful of Bangneaw.
