A Study of Elderly Welfare Needs In Saphli Sub-district, Pathiu District, Chumphon Province

Abstract

The Purpose of this research were to study elderly welfare needs in Saphli sub-district, Pathiu district, Chumphon province and to compare elderly welfare needs in Saphli sub-district, Pathiu district, Chumphon province. The sample was 400 elderly people, live in Saphli sub-district, Pathiu district, Chumphon province, and aged 60 years old onwards. The research’s instruments was questionnaire. The first part was general information, asked answerer about their gender, age, education level, status, accommodation, members in family, occupation, income, saving and loan. The second part was about elderly welfare nee s in aphli su - istrict, athiu istrict, humphon province. The ata’s statistic analyze y percentage, mean x ), standard deviation (SD), t-test, Oneway ANOVA, and LSD. The results showed that, in general, the level of elderly welfare need was found at a high level. When considering each part of welfare needs, elderly people placed the most importance on the aspect of social security. The second importance was the aspect of health care and treatment. The third importance was the aspect of income. The fourth importance was recreation activity. The comparison of elderly welfare needs showed that there was differentiation in elderly welfare needs with different status, accommodation, income, saving and loan at significant level of .05
