Analysis of Necessary of Official Supporting Staffs for Improving Their Academic Work
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to study, analyze and compare the needs for academic
performance development of academic supporting officers at College of Industrial Technology, King
Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB). The research uses descriptive analysis with
survey technique for collecting and analyzing data for the needs and well-being of our academic
supporting officers in order to design and prepare the guidelines for their self-development into higher
position. Selected samples in this research were 80 academic supporting members including
administrative, non-administrative and non-permanent employers. The research analyzes mean value,
standard deviation (S.D), t-test, one-way variance analysis and the test of data differences by the Scheffe's
method. The results indicated that the needs to develop working performance of academic supporting
officers for their self-development into higher position was ranked in variety topics as followed 1)service
providers for staff and students, 2)working conditions and environment, 3)welfare and incentives for selfdevelopment,
4)knowledge and skills necessary to perform the job, 5)work performance evaluation,
6)ability to make decisions and solve problems and 7)factors that affect their self-development and
ability in order to obtain their academic or research work, respectively.
