The Development of English for Career Reading Exercises for Student in Computer Engineering Technology, Faculty of Industrial and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin, Wangklaikangwon Campus
Abstract
The purposes of this study were to develop and test the efficiency of English
for Career reading exercises for student in Computer Engineering Technology,
compare students’ English for Career reading ability before and after using the
reading exercises. The samples consisted of 30 students in Computer Engineering
Technology, Faculty of Industrial and Technology, Rajamangala University of
Technology Rattanakosin, Wangklaikangwon Campus, who was studying the subject
of English for Career (ENL1002) in second semester.
The instruments used for gathering data were eight reading exercises for
student in Computer Engineering Technology and an English reading ability test used
as a pretest/posttest.
The statistic for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation and
t-test.
1. The efficiency of the English for Career reading exercises for English for
Career pretest and posttest was 75.56/75.75 percent. This means that the efficiency of
the English for Career reading exercises was at high level.
2. The English for Career reading ability of the student after using the English
for Career reading exercises was significantly higher at the 0.05 level.
