The studying of the facilities for senior citizens in Siam Paragon department store. Case study: Siam Paragon department store, Bangkok City
Abstract
This was a qualitative research about the studying of the facili ties for senior citizens in Siam Paragon
department store. Our objectives were to develop the exist facilities to be useful and to be effective to support
the using from senior citizens that might increase in the next few years. The researchers collect information by
using Phenomenology including doing Non-participant observation and collecting information by using In-depth
interview. The key informant of this research was the customers who is older than 60 years old in Siam Paragon
department store. The finding shown that the facilities was not enough for senior citizens’s demand. Moreover,
the customer didn’t understand how to use the facilities because some facilities that the department store have
provide is not in the routine of the senior citizens. The department store had to provide the right ways to use
the facilities. However, if the problem is solved, it will make the senior citizens impress and the other customer
will impress too. In addition, The department store will have an increase income and has a good image that they
pay attention to senior citizens which could the index to measure the prosperity of the country based on the
analyzing through the structure of building.
