Area Development of Chong-Mek Permanent Checkpoint,Ubon Ratchathani

Abstract

This thesis aims to develop a permanent Chong Mek border crossing, Ubon Ratchathani in physical, economic and social aspects demonstrating the economic frontier by exploring the project area to analyze problems and ways to develop the area in the future. According to the study, it has been found that currently the permanent Chong Mek border crossing area, Ubon Ratchathani is the area of the most imports and exports of the province. It needs to be designed to facilitate the export trade. Also, the context of the current area as the economic center of Northeast Lower border causes a lot of trades and businesses in many different areas. These include a permanent Chong Mek border crossing area. The current trend in the development of the space frontier is to be the center of economy, trade and distribution center of tourist attractions. The main aspect of the government's policy is to open a special economic development zone in the future. The area has a great potency for development over the nearby border crossings. The area is appropriate and necessary to be developed to support the economy in the future and to be summarized as a guideline for designing. The development guideline makes the design focused on creating economic activity, commercial and residential areas by pulling out imaginary concepts and elements of the city Also, the concept of Smart Growth is used in the design. The permanent Chong Mek border crossing area is a unique cultural border trade but it lacks identity. The area can also be connected to Laos economic areas with easy access from the main road. In the project area, there also will be a variety of different economies. The area will be the center of the international economy and blend with the other areas in the future.
