The Teenager Awareness that Support Slow Tourism of the Elderly for Recreation

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study demographic characteristic on Tourism Behavior and Knowledge about Slow Tourism that affect to the tourism attitude of elderly. The samples were 400 teenagers in Central Region. The data collection was done by using questionnaires. The data analysis was operated by using average, percentage, standard deviation and chi-square as crosstab. The research found that most of respondents were female, age 21 years old, studying 3rd year of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and monthly income is between 7,000-8,000 baht. Most people do not know what Slow Tourism is, and think that the Slow Tourism is religious and cultural tourism. Tourism behaviors of the teenagers are according to shopping malls on average 3-4 times per month and each tourism costs about 1,000 baht. The attitude to travel of elderly people was at moderate level ( = 3.28)
