The purposes of this research were 1) to study the learning achievement of students attending a remedial course of basic mathematics course 2) to compare the learning achievement of the students graduating from high school level and vocational certificate level 3) to compare the learning achievement of the students admitted from quota and direct admission system and 4) to study of the students’ opinions towards the remedial course. The samples were 109 of first year business students at Salaya campus.
The research instruments were instructional materials of Basic Mathematics Course, the fundamental test of basic mathematics, and questionnaires.
The results showed that :
1. Learning achievement of students after attending remedial course of basic mathematics was significantly higher than that before learning at the 0.01 level.
2. The learning achievement of the students graduating from high school level and vocational certificate level was significantly different at the 0.01. The learning achievement of the students graduating from high school was higher than that of those graduating vocational certificate level.
3. The learning achievement of students admitted from quota and direct admission system attending a remedial course of basic mathematics was not significantly different at the 0.01 level.
4. The students’ opinion toward a remedial course of basic Mathematics as a whole was at a good level.
