| dc.description.abstract | The thesis artwork titled “Territory of Fantasy” presents my childhood memories
and the deep bond I formed with toys through my family’s workplace at Saphan Lek
market. As a child, I spent time running through small alleys and narrow streets, where
I encountered new toys owned by other children in the same neighborhood. These
experiences created meaningful memories, as I closely observed them with curiosity
and a strong desire to own such toys.
Whenever I was given a new toy by my family, I would become deeply absorbed
in it for long periods. During times when I had to stay home alone, my collection of
toys became my only companions. I would then transform the interior of my home
into an imagined universe constructed from my own fantasies accessible only to me,
where I alone could perceive and experience these dreamlike worlds.
Through this body of work, I aim to convey these personal narratives by
reinterpreting and reconstructing toy forms into new visual representations. The works
are created as two-dimensional prints using the intaglio printmaking process,
specifically through the etching technique. | en_US |
