The Bloom of hope
Abstract
The study aimed 1) Study the meaning, significance, froms of encouragement through
floral bouquets, and the creative process of producing acrylic painting artworks. 2) Create acrylic
paintings on the theme “A Floral Hug for the Soul.” 3) Develop instructional media on the creative
process of creating acrylic painting artworks on the theme “Bouquet of Encouragement” using the
Canva program for secondary school students.
The research process consisted of four stages: 1) Studying, researching, and gathering
information. 2) Creating the Art Education Thesis and Instructional Media. 3) Analyzing and
summarizing research results. 4) Presenting the Art Education Thesis works.
The research found that:
1) The study showed that the researcher created artworks on the theme “A Floral
Hug for the Soul” using acrylic techniques on canvas, presenting flowers in a circular composition
to symbolize encouragement, hope, and tranquility through the selection of flowers with positive
meanings. These artworks can be creatively applied as visual arts instructional media for secondary
school students.
2) The creation consisted of 3 pieces of artwork: 2.1) Art Education Thesis work 1,
“Bouquet of Sunflowers of Encouragement,” created on a round canvas with a diameter of 80 cm,
arranged in a bird’s eye view composition, using warm tones to convey hope,.2.2) Art Education
Thesis work 2, “Bouquet of Lilies of Encouragement,” created on a rectangular canvas measuring
60 x 70 cm, arranged in a side-view composition, using cool tones to express healing and emotional
calmness in a harmonious manner, 2.3) Art Education Thesis work 3, “Bouquet of Blossoming
Hope,” created on a square canvas measuring 80 x 80 cm, arranged in a bird’s eye view
composition, using approximately 70% cool tones and 30% warm tones to convey hope, healing,
and emotional tranquility. All three paintings were created using acrylic techniques.
3) The instructional media was developed to present the art thesis using the Canva
program in art class, demonstrating the steps of drawing flowers with acrylic painting techniques
for lower secondary school students.
