THE PARTICIPATION OF THE PUBLIC ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE SERVICE ORGANIZATION’S INFRASTRUCTURE HUAI DUAN, NAKHON PATHOM PROVINCE
Abstract
This research aimed to (1) examine the degree of effectiveness of infrastructure service of
Huayduan Subdistrict Administration Organization; (2) explore the degree of public participation in
the public service of Huayduan Subdistrict Administration Organization, Don Tum District,
Nakhonpathom Province; and (3) propose the guideline for effective public service.
This mixed method research employed both quantitative and qualitative research
methodologies. The research samples for quantitative method were 360 people in the area, and
research samples for qualitative method were 5 key informants i.e. 1. Mr.Ongart Pinpayom, 2.
Mrs.Kusuma Kaewwaiyut, 3. Ms.Auemduean Orrakool, 4. Mr.Sema Pongsringamchai, 5.
Mr.Nitipong chummontien, through simple random sampling. The quantitative research data were
collected through questionnaires, and the qualitative research data collecting method was in-depth
interviews. The quantitative research data were analyzed through statistical analysis software with
descriptive statistics, frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and the qualitative
research data were analyzed with content analysis.
The findings of this research were 1) the overview of effectiveness of infrastructure service
of Huayduan Subdistrict Administration Organization was at the highest level (x= 4.75) (SD. =0.308);
2) the overview of participation in public service of Huayduan Subdistrict Administration
Organization was at a high level (x= 4.06) (SD. = 0.757); and 3) the guideline for public
service would be that it should have public relation for people to know their roles in public
participation processes and it should arrange the working plan that truly allows public participation in
processes of public infrastructure service by planning arrangement, implementation according to the
plan in order to get substantial results, and public meeting arrangement for approval on the proposed
plan or appointing the collaborator to work between plan and the agency who owns budget.
