Risk Management according to Good Governance of the Registered Companies and Investment Behavior of the Investors in the Stock Exchange of Thailand

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to investigate the risk management based on good governance principle of the registered companies; to examine the investment behaviors of investors; to explore the relationship between risk management based on good governance principle of the registered companies and the investment in the Stock Exchange of Thailand. Mixed methods were used in this study. In quantitative term, the questionnaires were distributed to 1863 persons. Analysis and conclusions were via canonical correlation and path analysis. The in-depth interview in qualitative method was carried out from 11 concerned investors. The findings of research showed were that all aspects of the management were at a moderate level. These were: the risk management following the good governance principles; the investors’ behaviors which covered weakening behavior, pressuring behavior, obstructing behavior, and defending behaviors and, the relationship between risk management being in line with the good governance principles and the investment behaviors of the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
