The Effectiveness of Road Safety Management in Reducing Road Accident by Phetchaburi Provincial Land Transport Office

Abstract

The research aimed (1) to study the effectiveness of the road safety management to reduce road accidents, to study the relationship between a road safety management and the effectiveness of the road safety management. The research is conducted by using a Quantitative research methods were employed. By using the questionnaire from 399 sample populations who were road users in Mueang District, Phetchaburi Province. The data by using the software program for analysis of social data (SPSS program) and used the following statistical tools: frequency distribution, percentage, average, and correlation. The study found that 1) the road safety management undertaken by the Phetchaburi Provincial Land Transport office contained 5 elements, which were, law enforcement, emergency medical system, public relations and participation, an evaluation and information systems, and traffic engineering. 2) road safety management had significant relation with the effectiveness of the road safety management.
