Logistics and Supply Chain Management Strategies for Enhancing the Competiveness of Local Community Product, KhubuaTeenjok Hand-woven Cotton Skirt
Abstract
This research aimed to study the structure and operational process of Tai-Yuan
Ratchaburi Agricultural Cooperative Ltd. in producing and distributing KhubuaTeenjok
hand-woven cotton skirts; and to analyze relationship between logistics and supply
chain management and competitiveness of KhubuaTeenjok hand-woven cotton skirt
products in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness of Tai -Yuan Ratchaburi
Agricultural Cooperative Ltd.
Simple random sampling technique was applied using self-reported
questionnaire of 216 cooperative members, 195 sales representatives, and 400
consumers. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistical analysis and regression
analysis.
Major findings revealed that structure and operational process of cooperative
on the aspect of production and sale of KhubuaTeenjok hand-woven cotton skirt
products, manufacturing time, organizational management style, and source of
material had statistically significant impact on competitiveness of the cooperative on
the aspect of operation cost reduction and quality improvement; and logistic and
supply chain management had statistically significant impact on competitiveness of
cooperative. High standard delivery, good services, cost reduction, customer
satisfaction, and flow of information and activity were positively and statistically
related. The results implied that applying logistics and supply chain management can
help improving competitive advantages in terms of cost reduction and customer
satisfaction.
