Display Detail of 3D Precast Concrete Connection Member by FreeCAD Software

Abstract

Nowadays, prefabricated construction technology is getting more popular in construction industry. Generally, member is casted in order to fix with other different connections. The rapid rise in popularity of these parts is due heavily to the raising of construction labor and materials costs. This article provides the detail of connection member of the structure, which is an important part of prefabricated construction parts. It shows a detail of connection precast concrete member in 3-D by using python script in FreeCAD software. Moreover, the drawing can be displayed accurately, sightly and obviously in order to understand the construction method with the finished parts system based on engineering standards. In addition, it also tested the transferring of IFC file from FreeCAD to SketchUP and BIM Viewer software. Nevertheless, the details are not yet completed and the output file is still too large.
