This study aimed to investigate the customers demand on Vetiver grass bag, to develop Vetiver grass bag
that answers the customers demand and to evaluated customers’ satisfaction toward the Vetiver grass bag. The
five three-dimensional (3D) patterns Vetiver grass bags were designed. The pattern will be evaluated and use in
further steps. The participants in this step were five technicians who are expert in manufacturing and product
design. Research instrument was open-ended questionnaire. The pattern number four was selected by the
technicians because it was the most suitable pattern for the Vetiver grass bag. The prototype of Vetiver grass bag
were made and use as the sample in customers’ satisfaction evaluation step. The participants were 50
customers who used the fashion bags in Oriental pier area. The research instrument was customers’ satisfaction
questionnaire. The customers’ satisfaction score showed that 1) product design aspect, the customers satisfied
the size and ratio of the product ( ̅=4.24) 2) the product beautifulness, the customers satisfied the shape of
product which was modern style ( ̅=4.34) 3) the usefulness, the customers satisfied because the products are
able to use in various occasion ( ̅=4.64) and 4) the satisfaction toward whole product, the Vetiver grass bag
gained the customer satisfaction in highest level ( ̅=4.28).
