| dc.description.abstract | The research concepts of furnishing product design from scrap wood for gaining elder people income
in Sukhothai province were to increase the value of products made from the scrap wood which abandoned
from home decoration by handicraft wood product group, to reduce consumption of natural resources, to
extent occupation and gain domestic income and to support sustainable local culture. Thus, this research
was aimed to design home decoration products from scarp wood by handicraft wood product group
according to the demand of elder people in Tumbon Ban kluai and Tambon Ban kwang, Mueang district,
Sukhothai province.
From the basic data, the possible pattern of the increasing scrap wood value such as picture flame,
desk lamp, wall decorated picture flame, box and small ceramic was contributed as a research model and
considered by the evaluation report of scrap wood demand for home decoration. 20-elder people of the
handicraft wood product group from Mueang district, Sukhothai province were averaged for demanding
products in each type and then selected maximum average of product demand for evaluating the benefit,
the charming and the processing of product by design specialists.
The results showed that the wall decorated picture flame was a famous product and was evaluated
about benefit, charming, elegance, easy searching materials in local area, uncomplicatd processing and
suitable for elder people skill.
The suggestions for next research were consideration of marketing demand for designed product,
extent handicraft wood product group to show their products in exhibition and cumulative products as a
