The Patterns of Elderly for Using Social Media in Bangkok

Abstract

This research is “The Patterns of Elderly for Using Social Media in Bangkok” that is a qualitative research. The data was collected by in-depth interview from accidental sampling out of 15 persons who were over 60 year-old, male 7 persons and female 8 persons. The purposes of this research are study patterns of social media using, problem of learning about using social media, limitation of social media and the importance of using social media for elderly from case study in Bangkok. Data analyzing from in-depth interview and extracting audio data into text including collect from related documents The research found that using social media for elderly is important because it can be reduced the gap between ages. Problems of using social media for elderly are lack of skills and experiences for using which they cannot solve their problems by themselves. Moreover, do not understand about process of working of social media. Therefore, the social media has many qualifications, so some elderly hard to get into the social media.
