The conditions and the adjustment guideline of elderly people who have raised their grandchildren of Generation-Z Amphoe Khok Samrong, Changwat Lopburi

Abstract

The objectives of this study were 1) to study the conditions and roles of elderly people on raising children in the present 2) to identify the adjustment guideline of problems that is different in each family and 3) to study the problems of elderly people who have raised their grandchildren in the field of Amphoe Khok Samrong, Changwat Lopburi. This is the qualitative research by using content analysis of Phenomenology and collected data by in-depth interview. Key Informants were six elderly people that live in Amphoe Khok Samrong, Changwat Lopburi. In term of the condition and role of elderly people on raising children of Generation Z, the study was found that the most of elderly people have borne the burden to raise children because parents of children have to work in order to get income for supporting their family. The role that elderly people received was to take care everything about daily routine of children. In term of the adjustment of elderly people, the research was found that the most of elderly people often compromised and indulged to children because the most of elderly people preferred to give affection more than punishment by beating. In the part of the problems that elderly people encountered while they were raising children, the results of research was found that the problems that elderly people faced were different including using online social networks for a long time, the problems caused from disobedience teaching of elderly people and the problems that caused from selection food to eat.
