The Behavior of the Elderly on Physically and Mentally Self-Caring in Amphoe Mueang, Pathum Thani Province

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study the behavior of the elderly on physical and mental self-caring in Amphoe Mueang Pathum Thani Province. This research is qualitative research. The population that was used in the research are the elderly in Pathum Thani province with the age of 60-80 years of 17 people. The data are collected by in-depth interview with 2 parts of questions. From the elderly samples were 17 people by means of simple random sampling in the boundary of research. The objective is to study the self- care both physical and mental of elderly in the district Pathum Thani province. The results showed that the health care behavior and physical of the elderly in the municipal district, Pathum Thani place importance on exercise and dining properly according to the principle of nutrition and also having a health checking up regularly. In term of health care behavior found that the elderly are able to cope with stress and realize how to relax in many ways. The elderly can be adapted into a state of the elderly by understanding the natural conditions Interactions with others in society and meetings or activities to do together as recreational activities. Moreover, on the support from the municipal government the construction of parks to promote quality of life and health of the elderly as well.
