Dharmic principle for lifestyle of the elderly: a case study of community at Wat Si Mueang, Chanthaburi
Abstract
Research on Principles and Life of the elderly: A case study of the community at Wat Si Muang
Chantaburi province. The purpose is to study method conduct oneself to the dharma principle to Buddhism of
the elderly, which is linked in any principles and to study the dharma principles that the elderly use to lived and
the most effected on the elderly. So, the sample were 400 elderly in the community at Wat Si Muang
Chantaburi province. The data were collected by using questionnaires. The statistical procedures used for
analysis were the percentages, the arithmetic mean, and the standard deviation. The results of this research
indicated that first, method conduct oneself to the dharma principle to Buddhism of the elderly such as Four
sublime states of mind, Basis of Power and Potency, and Resolute determination. Second, the dharma principles
that the elderly use to lived and the most effected on the elderly is Four sublime states of mind and the result
is that the elderly can live happily. And there is life satisfaction in life.
