Effect of Teenage Behavior to Developing of Elder People's Creative Learning to Watch Entertainment Programs on YouTube
Abstract
This research was a quantitative research aiming to study demographic characteristics and teenage behavior
to watch entertainment programs on YouTube which affected to creative learning skill of elderly people for
accessing social media called ‘YouTube’. Online questionnaire was a tool to gather the information choosing specific
examples at random, and the 400 samples were teenagers who are old between 18 and 22 years old. Using
descriptive statistics which were percentage, frequency, mean and standard deviation, and inferential statistics (Chi-
Square) to analyze information on SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences).
The research found that the characteristic of respondents were almost women who were old 18 years old, studying
in bachelor degrees, earning income 3,0001-6,000 baht per month, earning income from parents, and having elderly
people in their families. In a section of accessing YouTube’s behavior, most respondents have known YouTube over
3 years, access YouTube over 10 times a week, measuring 1 to 3 hours of time’s average length for watching
entertainment programs and music videos. The reasons of accessing YouTube were various. According to this
research, creative learning of elderly people for accessing YouTube was on high level (X = 3.7812, SD = 0.70326). In
the section of convenience to access the service, there was the highest average. The second one was the attitude of
creative learning. Next was steps of accessing the service, and the last one was ability of communication.
