Behavior using social networks to promote the quality of life for elderly

Abstract

This research was to study of the behavior of using social networks to promote the quality of life for elderly in Bang-Yai district, Nonthaburi. By using qualitative research methodology which were able to document a study and carry out in-depth interviews, to obtain the results. The result was obtained. The primary interviewees were people older than 60 years. The research’s purpose was to study the social networking behaviors of older people and the increasing and use of online social networks to promote the quality of life of the older generation. The research concluded that the elderly used social networks for many purposes, the common objective was to communicate with family and children, as well as to recognize the movement of society and to relieve stress through entertainment. This can help enhance the quality of life in the minds of the elderly. As a result, the elderly use social networks more and more, the benefits of a social network promote the quality of life of elders. The research concluded that the elderly using social networks was increasing due to the family and children recommending its use for communication and tracking information. The network had played a vital role in the communication between the elderly with family or children get more intimate depicted being far apart. So, in fact the older generation were mentally healthy as well as promoting a better quality of life.
