Demographic factors affecting to health care behavior of the elderly in Rommaninart Park, Bangkok
Abstract
The purpose of research were: to study the demographic that affect elderly health care behavior and to
study the different demographic characteristics affecting elderly health care behaviors. The behavior of taking
care of elderly according to the biosocial characteristic variables namely age, to compare gender, marriage status,
education level, earnings and family. The samples of this research are the elderly who came to Rommaninart
Park, Bangkok 400 elders. They chose the samples by convenient sampling. The instruments for collecting the
data were questionnaires on biosocial factors and questionnaires on self-care of the elderly. Data analyzed by
using Percentage, frequency, mean and standard deviation and inferential statistics which T-test and One Way
ANOVA
The result of this research shows that mostly respondents were elderly female age 70-79 years. The
statuses were marriage. The education levels were bachelor degree. The average monthly incomes were
between 10,001-15,000 baht. The family characters were extended family. The health care behaviors were high.
