Guidelines for the conservation of folk arts of the elderly to make teenagers awareness

Abstract

The purposes of this research was study the importance of the elderly folk who traditionally practiced a long time. To study the problems and obstacles in conservation heritage of folk arts of Thailand and finding ways to make teenagers aware the value of conservation folk arts. By means of in-depth interviews with the main informants related to the research study include 17 elderly people. The collection are interview, observe and documentation and used Triangulation theory to check the reliability of the data. Then analyzed based on the study and presentation of information. The study found that the importance of elderly folk who traditionally practiced a long time. Elderly people pay much attention to Thai folk performances. The traditional performance made the elderly enjoy. Using the performances as a tool to build relationships of teenagers to seniors. When we mention to conservation issues, inherited folk arts of Thailand due to teenagers have been influenced by other cultures. The number of teenagers that interested in Thailand traditional were decrease. From the current economic conditions made people must compete for living and survive. So there was no time to pay attention to the folk arts of their own. Therefore, The guidelines for the conservation of folk art performances to make teenagers aware of the importance and value of conservation. Inheritance of folk arts should cooperate with many parties such as schools, local community and including the elderly people must work together to help young people had awareness cherished for next generation to appreciate in the wisdom of the ancestors and continue to develop for the future.
