The purpose of this study was to investigate factors influencing debt repayment ability and to
investigate the factors affecting the debt burden of farmers moo 7, Baan Tha Chang, Tabphueng Subdistrict,
Si Samrong District Sukhothai Province. The instrument used to collect data was a
questionnaire with 90 sets. The analysis of cause of debt of the farmers was low (x = 2.26, SD = 0.59).
Considering both causes, they can be sorted in ascending order as follows: Occupation debt (x = 2.99,
SD = 0.79) and debt due to force majeure (x = 1.60, SD = 0.67). Based on the hypothesis testing, it was
found that factors related to debt incidence from occupation were 1 Number of family members 2.
Current liabilities 3. Interest rate 4. Debt payable. And the factors that are related to the debt due to
force majeure are: 1. Significant holding 2. Number of land held (self holding) and 3. Obligation to pay,
respectively.
