The purposes of this research were 1) to compare the science learning achievement of
grade 6 students after studying with problem – based learning approach with the criterion of
70% of full marks. The sample was a group of 30 grade 6 students studying
at Hongsaprapasprasit School in the service of the Office of Phra Nahonsriayutta Primary
Education Service Area 2 . The sample derived by using multi stage cluster random sampling. The
research instruments were 1) 10 lesson plans of problem-based learning approach about stones
and the changes, lasted for 20 hours, 2) a science learning achievement test with the reliability
of 0.86 The results of the research were: 1) The science learning achievement of grade 6
students using problem-based learning approach was higher the than the criterion of 70% of
full marks at the 0.05 level of significance.
