dc.description.abstract | The objective of this research is to study knowledge and ideas concerning the conservation and playing of
Phi Phung Tai folk games for youth in Hua Hin District, study the needs of youth to participate in learning and
conserving Phi Phung Tai folk games, and make activity models to enhance learning and conserving Phi Phung Tai
folk games in Hua Hin District. The research used a mixed methodology, between Quantitative Research and
Qualitative Research in Participatory Action Research. The tools used in this research are structured and nonstructured
interviews of young people, and participatory action through a focus group.
The results were as follows. 1) Knowledge and ideas of the conservation and playing of Phi Phung Tai folk
games by youth in Hua Hin District were at a medium overall level ( ̅= 2.97), the recognition about this playing
at a medium level ( ̅=2.59), and the knowledge of this playing at a lower level ( ̅= 2.45). However, giving
importance to supporting and conserving Phi Phung Tai folk games was at a high level ( ̅=3.87). 2) The needs
of youth to participate in learning and conserving found that 161 people (63.14%) did not want to participate, 94
people (36.86%) wanted to, and this group wanted to participate at a high level in all topics ( ̅= 3.68). 3) The
activities model to enhance learning and conservation of this folk game by youth includes: to create awareness
of the Phi Phung Tai folk game by publicity through the media, to learn the knowledge and conservation of this
folk game by doing exhibitions and activities in class, and to invite a knowledgeable source to convey the games
to the youth. In addition, we can support the participation and conservation of Phi Phung Tai folk games by
establishing a conservation activity club, to be integrated with other community events, creating unique activities
and determining style of dress during the games. The club would participate in this event when it is held every
year during the Songkran festival. | en_US |
