Translation of Community-based Creative, Cultural and Traditional Tourism of Koh Kred Community
Abstract
The purpose of this research was to study how the Koh Kred community translated communitybased
cultural and traditional tourism. This research began from October 2016 to June 2017. It uses the
primary data, secondary data, observation and interview. The problems and the needs of the people were

both identified. Tourist attractions and traditional and cultural resources were found to be in abundance
together with The Sample of Tourism of “One Tambon, One Product” (OTOP) pottery ware village of the
central part of Thailand and Pottery Ware with Thai Geographical Indication (GI) that can be developed into
community tourist attractions. The promotion of tourism and the environment were the problem of Koh Kred
Community. They also found that many believe and historical and cultural knowledge will disappear in one
day. As a result, the villagers decided to organize the promotion of their community by using communitybased
creative, cultural and traditional tourism as its main activity. The formation of the villagers was agreed
upon, complete with a tourist market plan, a tourist business plan, including the protection of environment.
The form of community-based creative, cultural and traditional tourism is walking tour, boat tour. The tourists
will see the way of life, the custom, the tradition and the festival. They will learn the culinary of local meals
of community. The villagers will sell their products to the tourists. The community-based creative, cultural
and traditional tourist project was organized. Tourist groups came from October 2016–September 2017.
Information was gathered from the tourists particularly about their opinion regarding the management of
walking tour and boat tour activities. The results of research showed the villagers create the batic handicraft
group in order to get the profession and gain their salary. Moreover, they have saving corporation.
