Research-based Development for Supporting New Researcher ; Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin
Abstract
This research has an objective to extract the lessons learned concerning the management
model on the development of RMUTR new researchers for. Key Informants are composed of
lecturers and researchers who benefit from the research grant under Research Project for the
development of RMUTR socially-engaged researchers for the fiscal year 2015, which comprises 21 researchers and 21 research projects by purposive sampling. Three modes of the researchers’
development are undertaken: 1) upstream stage: develop the researchers so that they are capable
to identify the problem and formulate it to the project proposal, 2) mainstream stage: follow up
the researchers throughout the process so as to understand the problems and obstacles
encountered in conducting the research and to find the common solutions, 3) downstream stage:
encourage the researchers to publish their research outcome through 3 practical trainings are as
follows; Factors facilitating the success consist of knowledge, comprehension, skills, researchers’
attitude, strength of research networks, ambiance equipped with facilities to conveniently conduct
the research, contribution of the received research budget, time management for conducting the
research. Conditions of success consist of organization’s executives who realize the importance and
give full support to the research projects conducted by the personnel in the relevant organizations
at all levels, evolution of the concepts in conducting researches towards more correct and liberal
ways, as well as acquisition of sufficient financial support. And problems and obstacles come from
the fact that each researcher has many workloads from their regular responsibility. This results in
the delay in conducting research in accordance with the research plan which was set. As a
consequence, some of the research projects requested for the extension of research time limit.
