Knowledge Management Model on Local Wisdom for Community-based Tourism Development in Prachuabkirikhan province, Thailand
Abstract
The objective of this research is for developing the knowledge management
(KM) model on local wisdom for community-based tourism (CBT) in Prachuabkirikhan
province. 3 research problems are 1) what is the component and process of KM?
2) is KM process related to TUNA model? and 3) how the local manages KM? Population
is Karen tribal group in Pamark village, Salalai, Samroiyod, Prachuabkirikhan province and
30 wise men are willing specific chosen to be the sampling group. Qualitative
participatory action research (PAR) is used for 1) studing local socio-cultural and natural
context 2) developing KM model and 3) evaluating and assuring KM model. After that,
semi-structured interview and questionnaire are used for collecting all information and
related data to KM process and analyzed it with mean and percentage. Its result is: the
KM model is emphasized in experience telling, learning deliberation and note taking.
Friendly informal conversation is important together with knowledge worker and
facililator are the main human factors approaching the succession of KM. Managing
pattern and personal role are improved in flexible KM that enhances the local make a
plan to establish Culture center and mixed learning route in their village by using local
wisdom as the attractions. KM process of the local is considerably related to TUNA
model and the experts agree with this model in very high level at 4.25 because it shows
cleary steped, conecting and continuously management that is suited for using in high
level at 3.67 while the KM satisfaction of the participants is also high at 4.40
