KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT AND PERSONNEL COMPETENCY OF NAVAL PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, ROYAL THAI NAVY
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to study the knowledge management of Naval
Public Works Department; the performance of personnel of Naval Public Works Department;
the relationship between the effective knowledge management and the performance of
personnel of Naval Public Works Department and; knowledge management methods
affecting the performance of personnel of Naval Public Works Department.
This research adopted a mixed-method. Quantitative research sample group
used in the study were 687 officers and employees of Naval Public Works Department.
The questionnaire were employed as data collection tools. The statistics used in this
study were frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The research hypothesis
was tested by canonical correlation analysis. Qualitative research conducted in-depth
interviews with 10 officers and analyzed data with contend analysis.
The study showed that; the knowledge management of Naval Public Works
Department performance was at a moderate level; the personnel's performance strength
and completeness was achieved at high level; the knowledge management of the pursuit of
knowledge, knowledge creation, knowledge collection, knowledge distribution and applied
knowledge were relationship affected positively the performance of the personnel and; the
suggestion of knowledge management of Naval Public Works Department as knowledge
collection in technicians and bring the knowledge to practical used.
