In regard to a building inspection certificate (Ror.1) issued by the Bang Mae Nang Subdistrict
Nonthaburi Province Administration to a building owner, it was found that the building owner was unable to
submit the report of the building inspection within the specified period. This study aims to identify the
problems and obstacles encountered in arranging building inspections in compliance with the Ministerial
Regulations of B.E. 2548 which prescribe the type of building that must be inspected. This study used a survey
research method and questionnaire as research instrument. The questionnaire was completed by 12 building
owners who received a building inspection certificate from the Bang Mae Nang Subdistrict Administration. The
studied data is consisting of 3 aspects as follows: 1) Knowledge and understanding of building inspection;
2) Problems and obstacles related to building inspections; and 3) Ways to solve problems relating to building
inspections. Responses to questions by building owners were according to a five-points of Likert scale. Results
show that building owners: 1 ). Had a moderate level of knowledge and understanding of building inspection
(2.88) with the highest score for this sub aspect being for “Must be examined for failure of the building
structure” (3.92); 2 ). Met with a moderate level of problems and obstacles related to building inspections
(2.76) with the highest score for this sub aspect being for “Building inspection fee is too expensive” (3.83); and
3). Had a high level of understanding how to solve problems connected with building inspections (3.82) with
the highest score for this sub aspect being for “When checking the building, if the building is illegal, the
building owner is ready to make corrections” (4.08)
