Operation Effectiveness of Asset Management Department, State Railway of Thailand
Abstract
This study was about the asset management of the State Railway of Thailand
with the purposes 1) to study the management process 2) to study the level of
management effectiveness and 3) to sack the guidelines for improving the management
toward effectiveness.
The research adopted mixed method research design. Regarding quantitative
aspect, data were collected from 48 personnel by using a questionnaire. The qualitative
data were collected form interviewing 10 key informants. Data were analyzed with
percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis.
The study found that: 1) Regarding management process the aspect of
commanding, coordinating, planning, and organizing was generally at a moderate level 2)
Overall management effectiveness was at a moderate high level and 3) The guidelines for
improving management toward effectiveness were to adjust aspect of organizational
structure division of work; developing one-stop service operation; organizing large and
proportional work space; setting systematic document storage and easy for sharing between
departments; and applying private sector concepts for organization’s utmost benefit.
