| dc.description.abstract | The objectives of this thesis are to study the nature of the city that is compatible with the port and to support the tourism by studying its history,
physical components, theories of research related, changes from past to present. The study selected the area of downtown port of Chalong Bay,
Phuket province and then analyzed the problems of change, potentiality, future needs, and the possibilities of development of the area to support
tourism. Moreover, this study aims to learn how to manage public space by the sea and provide guidelines for the development of the Port of
Chalong Bay so that it can take advantage of the land in its fullest potential as well as the development of the area in accordance with the
development policies of the city.
The study found that the port of Chalong Bay, Phuket Province is a cruise port that is economic important of Phuket province. The visitors can change
the travel lines to other key places and also can change from land route to the water route to islands. And, at the present, Chalong Bay is yacht
control center(PYCC:PHUKET YACHT CONTROL CENTER) which is the water ga te providing a point of access to the cruise and the type of sport yachts,
which is a group of visitors to create the cash flow to multiple related business. When the current data is stored, it showed that the area still lacks
businesses related to yacht tourists and because the area is in the economically important zone, the price of land gets higher and higher whereas the
public utilities like public places are still inadequate. Moreover, it found that some areas lack transportation service and difficult to access in some areas.
After the problems and the potential of the area were studied and analyzed, the development plan of downtown port was designed and proposed.,
Chalong Bay By the system the Decomposition Tree, traffic and public transport system is the development of the port to support the amount of
visitors that will be added in the future from the train light rail to include the development of the railway station light rail and link it to the system
of public transport between the rail system with the ship, By the walking trails and also linked to the system with the establishment of the bus stop
to the cover and there is a link to the activities of economic and and the link to the public areas of the shore that have been developed so that
everyone can access the seaside area and help reduce the disparity in the social and help to promote the quality of the environment, To raise the
economic area to support the international level with the development of the area is the investment in the economy is associated with the business
