The Efficiency of Savings’s Elderly People in Bangkok

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the saving condition problems of elderly people in Bangkok; 2) to study the saving behaviors and the ways of saving of elderly people in Bangkok: and 3) to examine the factors affecting the levels of saving in elderly people in Bangkok.
The Sample group was 400 elderly people in Bangkok. The parameters used for statistical analysis of this research were 1) frequency 2) percentages 3) mean 4) standard deviation and 5) chi-square
The result of this research indicated that 1) most people who own asset value and savings greater than one million baht are self employed or dealers with the percentage of 30.75%, while the least group of people who own asset value and saving greater than one million baht are employees with the percentage of 4%
2) most people tend to deposit in bank with the percentage of 56.76%, whereas buying debenture is the least favourable way of saving with the percentage of 7% and 3) for the analysis of the relationships between asset value and saving, buying debenture impacts the efficiency of asset value and saving with the percentage of 92.68%. The level was statistically significant at 0.05
