The purposes of this study are 1) to study the emergence process and effects of global warming and 2) to study the outcomes resulting from the application of Kula-Ciratthiti-Dhamma–reasons for lastingness of a wealthy family-to help reduce the global warming today. From the study it is found that global warming is a phenomenon due to the fact that the earth cannot be cooled off, causing the temperature to rise. There are two factors that contribute to global warming, that is to say, the phenomenon of the earth and behaviors of human lifestyle that lacks awareness, shared responsibility to conserve and restore natural resources and the environment, paying too much attention to the development of the industrial economy. Those mentioned reasons result to make use of natural resources and the environment used for the expansion, aiming for the scientific progress and driving the development. Therefore, it affects the natural resources and the environment inevitably. Kula-Ciratthiti-Dhamma is a principle that can be applied to reduce global warming seen as a substantial in terms of management and maintenance, including restoration of natural resources and the environment, living with humans or other creatures on this planet with the compromise between each other. It consists of four main reasons: 1) Natthagavesana: seeking for what is lost. This means the restoration of natural resources and the environment to reuse it again as much as one can, which can be compared with the principle of Utthanasampada: to be endowed with energy and industry; achievement of diligence. 2) Jinnapatisankharana: repairing what is worn out. When finding that anything is damaged, maintenance should be quickly done, not wasting repairable material. If not, it is helpful to use something else instead. This can be compared with the principle of Arakkhasampada: to be endowed with watchfulness; achievement of protection which is in Ditthadhammamikattha-dhamma: virtues conducive to benefits in the present; virtues leading to temporal welfare. 3) Paramitapanabhojana: moderation in spending. This means knowing about the saving of natural resources and environment, not to be extravagant and superfluous, help to save natural resources and environment for the next generation. This is the way of wise consumption, taking into account the genuine and artificial value. This can be applied to the principle of Samajivita: balanced livelihood; living economically. 4) Adhipaccasilavantathapa: putting in authority a virtuous woman or man. This can be compared with Kalyanamitta: good company; association with good people, trying to avoid associating false friends. If ones follow those principles, human beings, natural resources and the environment can peacefully stay together forever.en_US
