The Development of speaking abilities for second year students who study Engligh for Communication course, Faculty of Industry and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin taught by Problem-Based learning activities
Abstract
The purposes of this study, The Development of speaking
abilities for second year students who study Engligh for Communication course, Faculty
of Industry and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin taught
by Problem-Based learning activities were 1) to students’ students’ speaking ability taught by
Problem-Based learning activities 2) to study the students’ motivation to learning English
grammar using Problem-Based learning activities. The samples consisted of 30 second year
students in Mass communication Technology, who was studying the subject of English
for communication (ENL 2007) in the first semester during the academic year 2013,
selected by purposive sampling. The students studied five lessons within five weeks
and 50 minutes per period.
The instruments used for gathering data were lesson plan, a speaking English
test, and motivation test
The statistics for data analysis were percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The findings revealed that:
1) More 60 Students’ abilities on English was higher than before
2) The students’ motivation after studied the Problem-Based learning activities was
higher before.
