A survey study on Characteristics of Thaksin University Graduates that Affect Job
Employment Opportunity aimed to investigate employers/entrepreneurs’ satisfaction
toward Thaksin University graduates who they employed. The subjects, selected by
stratified simple random sampling technique, were 130 graduates who attended the B.E.
2554 graduation ceremony and reported their employment statuses to the university. The
workplaces were divided into 4 different categories; government sector, state enterprise
sector, private sector, and miscellaneous sector. The survey questionnaires developed by
the researcher were sent to the employers/entrepreneurs in the workplaces where the
subjects were employed. 130 were returned for analysis. The study revealed the following
results. Employers / entrepreneurs were very satisfied with the graduates ( X = 3.8537).
The major characteristics that the employers/entrepreneurs were most satisfied with
included ethics, moral, and social relationship ( X = 3.9687). The second major
characteristic that the employers/entrepreneurs were very satisfied with was responsibility
for professional ethics ( X = 3.9520). The third major characteristic that the
employers/entrepreneurs were very satisfied with was academic knowledge and ability
( X =3.6919). The minor characteristics that employers/entrepreneurs were most satisfied
with included honesty, responsibility and dedication,diligence and enthusiasm, and ability
to follow rules and discipline. The minor characteristics that the employers/entrepreneurs
were least satisfied with included ability to use foreign languages (English and other
languages), ability in planning, ability to use IT and teamwork ability
