Perception of Students toward applying the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy to Alleviate the Lavish Habit: A Case Study of then Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin’s Students
Abstract
This is a survey research, samples composed of students from RMUTR totally 90 students, Bachelor Degree level. Questionnaires are used as the instrument. Findings indicate the following : Majority of students, are male, study at Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, โFirst year level, average grade point 2.75, living in Bangkok and nearby area. Parent earn living by doing business and private entrepreneur, income more than 40,000 Baht, students received 5,000 – 8,000 Baht/month.
Perception of students toward applying the sufficiency economy philosophy to alleviate the lavish habit are in the middle level, perception about family economic problem is the highest, part time job, expenditure planning, income expenditure account is the lowest level. Perception about social are in the middle level, recent Thai social condition and perception is the highest, perception about the importance of money, power and materials is the lowest.
Factors affection perception of students towards applying the sufficiency economy are faculty studied , perception about economic problems, social problems, and environment problems. Variables that can explain and influence variation are perception about social, second is the economic problems; whereas, social problems is the variable that influence and explain the variation of sufficiency economy philosophy to alleviate the lavish habit is the lowest.
