The objective of the research is to study local wisdom in handicraft of Baan Bang Wuay, Bang Pla Sub-District, Bang Len District, Nakhon Pathom Province and to study the patterns of the old products of the handicraft community enterprise group of Baan Bang Wuay, Bang Pla Sub-District, Bang Len District, Nakhon Pathom Province and the behavior, the supply of the producers, and the demand of consumers towards the products in order to design and develop patterns of the community products based on local wisdom in handicraft of Baan Bang Wuay, Bang Pla Sub-District, Bang Len District, Nakhon Pathom Province as well as to assess the attitude to the pattern designed and developed from the community. The research found that:
1. Local wisdom in handicraft of Baan Bang Wuay, Bang Pla Sub-District, Bang Len District, Nakhon Pathom Province had an expertise in weaving the water hyacinth to the maximum.
2. The old products of the handicraft community enterprise group of Baan Bang Wuay, Bang Pla Sub-District, Bang Len District, Nakhon Pathom Province were not the authentic leather shoes and shoes from plant fiber. These products still be produced and distributed in the expositions.
3. The need to develop five types of products is the following 1) bagpacks and purses 2) shoes 3) baskets or boxes 4) souvenirs and 5) decoration.
4. The design and the pattern development of community products based on local wisdom in handicraft of Baan Bang Wuay, Bang Pla Sub-District, Bang Len District,
Nakhon Pathom Province implemented as the following proceedings: 1. sketch 2. Two-dimension draft 3. 3-dimension draft 4. Plate presentation 5. Mock up 6. Prototype
5. The assessment of the attitude towards the pattern of community products designed by the expert found that
1. The materials made for backpacks and purses was suitable to the maximum ( ̅ =4.36; S.D.=0.49)
2. The materials made for shoes was suitable to the maximum ( ̅ =4.76; S.D.=0.44)
3. The aesthetics of baskets or boxes was suitable to the maximum ( ̅=4.53; S.D.=0.52)
4. The aesthetics of souvenirs was suitable to the maximum ( ̅=4.67; S.D.=0.49)
5. The materials made for decoration was suitable to the maximum ( ̅=4.64; S.D.=0.49)
6. Satisfied assessment towards community products designed and developed found that decoration product (clocks) was the first ranking product which had MEAN in the maximum ( ̅=4.57; S.D.=0.50). The second ranking product was shoes ( ̅=4.50; S.D.=0.50). The third ranking products that had MEAN at the same ranking were backpacks, purses and souvenirs (keychain) ( ̅=4.49; S.D.=0.53 and 0.50 respectively).
7. The demand of buying community products designed and develop found that the most sampling group wanted to buy products in the pattern of keychain in the maximum. Its percentage was 40.16. The second demand was baskets. It is 21.31%. For the backpacks/purses and decoration (clock) had the same percentage at 13.11.
8. The survey of buying behavior and the influential factor found that the factor of new products designed different from the general market had the maximum MEAN. The ranking is in the maximum ( ̅=4.78; S.D.=0.42). Another factor was versatile pattern of function which had the maximum ranking ( ̅=4.61; S.D.=0.42). The selection of material use for the function had the maximum ranking ( ̅=4.60; S.D.=0.49). For the nice patterns and aesthetics in accordance with the demand of consumers, it is in the maximum ranking ( ̅=4.59; S.D.=0.49). For presentation of Thai uniqueness in handicraft, it is in the maximum ( ̅=4.56; S.D.=0.50).
