Design and Development of Technique for Vetiver Leaf Products with Tatting and Weaving

Abstract

From studying design and creative methods in vetiver grass with weaving technique, the research aims to study are develop new techniques in building creative in community products to be innovative and various but still keep the tradition method in making these products. To create prototype products to be choices. To pass on knowledge with integration for community or interested person. To make money from these product. To make people in community see how importance of using natural resource that follow the guide line of his majesty the king about using vetiver grass to keep soil and water in good condition. The methods in this research are literature review, research are bring related information from vetiver grass products are tatting and weaving, areas surrey to analysis new creativetechniques. The research also use questionnaires, interview are observation form with this research. The research result showed that the sample groups have ability in weaving basic striped so they can learn to bring design in their products easily but some complicate striped may wear by skilled person that quite hard to find. From the average of the research, it is found that basic technique have the highest store and the basic technique can pass on knowledge to community easily. So using basic waving techniques with interest way, new style and colors in product development can create these product to reach the new markets.
