The Development of a Multimedia Software combined Internet System for Civil Engineering Laboratory
Abstract
The aim of this research is to develop a computer program for laboratory testing in civil engineering. The purpose of development is applied in civil engineering teaching and learning includes help to report laboratory experiment for service testing center. The initial of Laboratory program development was investigated literature information and collected laboratory sheet or data of testing. The correction of these literatures was verified by three experts. Finally, the application was carried out that the complete program is verified by training participant.
The developed program composed of four distinct key element including, 1) calculation and result report program, 2) instruction program, 3) knowledge video learning and 4) soil mechanics examination program. Overall parts are designed to use database together and can used include personal computer and internet system. The analytical part composed of 15 sub-programs that wrote by visual basic language able to report in form of numeric and graphic results. The results of testing are stored with database contacted by SQL language and can upload in server. Effectiveness of this application is verified 30 of training participants in 12 topics found that the average satisfaction of group was 4.23 of 5 score. This evaluation summarized to good standard and capable to use in work.
