The thesis series The Space Between explores the states of “silence” and “serenity” that exist between solitude and self-acceptance. Through the process of intaglio printmaking (etching), I create a contemplative space where traces, lines, and overlapping tones of light and shadow form a visual language that reflects the subtleties of the human mind. Within a tranquil and minimal atmosphere, I invite the viewers to sense the “space” between sound and emptiness a quiet realm filled with awareness, stillness, and existence beyond explanation. The work thus becomes not merely a depiction of silence, but a communication of inner peace that quietly blossoms from within. The overlapping lines, marks, and shades of light within the work serve as traces of emotions accumulated within the soul a silent record of feelings that cannot be articulated through words. Beneath the gentle, tranquil, and desolate atmosphere, the viewer is invited to perceive the “space” between sound and stillness, a realm that becomes both a site of contemplation and release. This series does not merely portray emotional states but reflects the artist’s endeavor to comprehend inner solitude through a visual language that is simple yet profoundly resonant. It employs art as a medium to bridge the unseen “silence” with the enduring “voice within,” revealing the quiet persistence of human emotion beyond the boundaries of speech.en_US
