KEY SUCCESS FACTOR IN CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT OF SUBCONTRACTORS IN PHETCHABURI AND PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN PROVINCE
Abstract
The purposes of thi s research were to compare key success factors in
construction management of the subcontractors in Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan
provinces categorized by types of construction project and value of projects; and to
determi ne factors i nfluenci ng success i n constructi on management of the
subcontractors in Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan provinces.
Stratified random sampling technique was applied to select 459 subcontractors in
Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan provinces to answer self-reported questionnaire.
Data were analyzed by bivariate analysis and linear regression model analysis.
Research results found that subcontractors of structural work projects
emphasized on processes of construction more than those of interior work projects who
focused mainly on quality control management, and while projects with medium value
budget were perceived easier to manage than those with lower or higher budget since
the projects with medium value budget mostly had appropriate budget value for
managing projects with moderate level of job complication; and quality control
management was the most important factor in determining success of construction
projects.
