PARTICIPATION IN HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE MANAGEMENT OF MAP KHAE SUBDISTRICT MUNICIPALITY

Abstract

The objectives of the research were to: (1) investigate the participation in household garbage management of Map kae Subdistrict Municipality; (2) explore the participation in household garbage management of Map kae Subdistrict Municipality; (3) study the relationship between participation of people and household garbage management of Map kae Subdistrict Municipality. The scope of this research area was Map kae Subdistrict Municipality, Muang Nakhonpathom District, Nakhonpathom Province. This qualitative research employed interview the informants i.e. Mayor, Deputy Mayor, secretary of Mayor, Municipal Clerk, chiefs of departments, and officers of Map kae Subdistrict Municipality, as well as observation on the reality of the participation in household garbage management. The results of hypothesis testing revealed that the participation of Map Kae Subdistrict Municipality focused on the participation at a very high level in order to meet accomplishment, efficiency and effectiveness, worthiness in the tasks, as well as to respond the need of people. The study found that participations in execution, getting the benefits from development in reducing the municipal solid waste, remedy on material and raw material reduction at the highest level. According to finding of this study could advise recommendation regarding participation in household garbage management of Map kae Subdistrict Municipality, Muang Nakhonpathom District, Nakhonpathom Province that Map kae Subdistrict Municipality should impose policy about household garbage disposal, educate knowledge to people in Map kae Subdistrict Municipality, Muang Nakhonpathom District, Nakhonpathom Province about category of municipal solid waste, important factors affect to volume of garbage in community and right municipal solid waste segregation, the provided places for organic waste in order to change behavior of people. Map kae Subdistrict Municipality should educate knowledge about not lettering and fire the waste. Also, Map kae Subdistrict Municipality should study possibility of incinerator or waste separation plant in order to study the further impact on environment and improve execution of Map kae Subdistrict Municipality.
