NEEDS FOR SELF - DEVELOPMENT OF THE SUPPORTING PERSONNEL OF THE RAJAMANGALA UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY RATTANAKOSIN
Abstract
The aims of this independent study were to investigate the differences between
individual factors and the needs for self-development of supporting personnel; and to
examine the influences between motivational factors and the needs for self-development
of supporting personnel.
The research methodology was quantitative modes of enquiry, the study was
conducted in the form of a survey, the questionnaire was used to gather information from
178 supporting personnel. Simple statistical analysis namely Percentage, Mean, One-way
ANOVA and Regression were applied in the study.
The study found that; in terms of needs for self-development of personnel, the
differences of sex, age, education background, length of work experience performed, and
types of personnel showed no statistical significance to personnel’s opinions about self development
on training, further education and self-learning, respectively; and work
performance, stability, promotion, and social status had influence over three aspects of
self-development - trainings, further education and self-learning. For other factors, salary
or wage had influence on self-development simply on training.
