THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE LONG TERM CARE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR THE DEPENDENT ELDERLY OF NONTHABURI CITY MUNICIPALITY, MUEANG DISTRICT, NONTHABURI PROVINCE
Abstract
This study aimed to explain the effectiveness of the long term care management
system, and a relationship between the effectiveness of the long term care management
system for the dependent elderly and the factor affecting the effectiveness of the long
term care management system.
This study was conducted by a mixed method approach. A quantitative study was
conducted with a Yamane sample group of 400 dependent elderly people of Nonthaburi
City Municipality whom a servey questionnaire was administered with, and an accidental
random sampling method was employed. The data were analyzed by descriptive
statistics including percentages, mean, standard deviation, and inferential statistics including
Chi square statistics. A qualitative study employed an in-dept interview with seven key
informants and the data were analyzed by content analysis and interpretation.
Results revealed that the effectiveness of the long term care management
system overall was at a high level, particularly in the quality of life, and there was a
positive statistical correlation among critical effectiveness factors with the effectiveness
at a low level (.01).
