THE IMPLEMENTATION SUCCESS OF THE ELDERLY SOCIAL WELFARE POLICY: A CASE OF RONGHIP SUBDISTRICT ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION, BANG KHONTHI DISTRICT, SAMUTSONGKHRAM PROVINCE

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to; assess the implementation of the elderly social welfare policy ; compare the opinions of the sample group by demographics on the implementation of the elderly social welfare policy ; explain the relationship between influencing factors of the policy implementation and the success of the policy implementation; predict the success of the policy implementation. This study employed a quantitative design. Data were collected through questionnaires. The sample included 260 elderly residents of Ronghip Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Bang Khonthi District, SamutSongkhram Province. Statistical software was employed to analyze the data by using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, oneway ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression. Results revealed that ; the overall implementation of the policy was at a moderate level, over all mean was 3.31; the sample group possessed different opinions on the aspect of occupation toward implementation of the elderly social welfare policy at the .05 significance level; the influencing factors of the policy implementation were positively correlated with the success of the policy implementation at the .01 significance level, and the policy implementation was predicted to achieve an 88% chance of success.
