GUIDELINES FOR BUILDING MOTIVATION AMONG THE PERSONNEL OF SAMNGAM SUBDISTRICT MUNICIPALITY NAKHON PATHOM PROVINCE
Abstract
The objectives were to describe the motivation and the current work-motivation
building for the personnel of Sam Ngam Subdistrict Municipality, Nakhon Pathom Province;
and to offer a guideline to build the work motivation among the personnel of Sam Ngam
Subdistrict Municipality.
This study employed a qualitative method. Data were collected using in-depth
interviews with 15 key informants comprising administrators and officers. The data were
analyzed using a content analysis.
Findings revealed that; the personnel of Sam Ngam Subdistrict Municipality, Nakhon
Pathom Province were motivated and the current work-motivation was built through the
work environment as the agency allocated adequate facilities and tools, the interpersonal
relationships as the working personnel felt positively towards their colleagues and were
able to work together, and the operational success as the working personnel was able to
fulfill the assigned tasks; and a guideline to build work motivation among the personnel
included the increase of communication channels within the agency, the organization of
joint activities among the employees, the creation of brief memoranda for the assignments,
the voluntary management of the personnel fund, the education on career advancement
for the government officials which includes training encouragement, and the evaluation to
nominate outstanding employees and the nomination rotation to boost the work morale.
